Shrimala was the first to rise. After freshening up, she quietly slipped back into her routine—sweeping, cooking, tending to every corner of the haveli.
Her husband woke soon after, leaving for the temple without a word. The sun had barely spread across the courtyard when the others stirred; Nayantara began her cleaning duties while Kaveri busied herself with the sheds.
